Building Regulations
In 2011, Part L of the Building Regulations was amended to ensure that any new homes built in the U.K. were to the highest international standard and to lower the overall impact on the environment. The amendment was just the first step in the U.K. to achieving zero carbon housing.
The Building Regulations (Part L Amendment) 2011 provide for:
-Implementation of minimum requirements for heating systems.
-Procedures and requirements for airtightness testing.
-Increased emphasis on builder and installers providing the highest quality of workmanship.
-A minimum mandatory renewable energy requirement for all new houses.
