Air barrier materials and accessories
Proprietary air impermeable membranes used in construction must have a certification from a third party (e.g. Irish Agrement Board -- IAB) otherwise they cannot be used in the dwelling.
In addition, all membranes, tapes and accessories must conform to the following conditions:
Have a certain level of durability.
Allow the movement of structural elements with negative effect.
Be of sufficient strength.
Be easy to apply and install.
Have a clear and simple maintenance procedure.
